Primary Program: 2.5 - 6 Years of AgeThe primary classrooms offer practical life exercises that enhance the development of cognitive order through care of self, care of environment, and refinement of physical movement and coordination. Sensorial materials enable the child to experience sensory impressions in relation, length, width, temperature, mass, color, etc. Math materials allow the child to internalize the concepts of numbers, symbols, sequences, operations, and basic facts. The language work includes oral language development, written expression, reading, the study of grammar, creative dramatics, and children's literature. The child is also presented with cultural lessons including geography, history, life sciences, music, art, and movement education. Group time often includes songs, games, stories, or other activities that complete the day. The environment provides a natural sense of discipline. Respect and responsibility are practiced by all. The children are free to display independence and curiosity and to discover a lifelong "love of learning." Primary Program Hours include several options:
